Canon announced as Tokyo 2020’s latest Gold Partner

The Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee has announced that Canon Inc. (Canon) has been appointed an official Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner.

Canon’s selection constitutes the third partner of the Tokyo 2020 Marketing Programme. Canon has been designated as official “Still Cameras and Desktop Reprographic Hardware” provider, and will play a major role in Tokyo 2020’s efforts to deliver an inspirational Games.

Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori welcomed the appointment: “It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee has concluded a Gold Partner contract with Canon. Canon’s state-of-the-art still cameras and desktop reprographic hardware, including desktop printers, will capture and reproduce breathtaking images of the world’s leading athletes in full flight and record these for posterity. They will play a crucial role in communicating the wonder and inspiration of the Tokyo 2020 Games.”

Canon Chairman and CEO Fujio Mitarai, who also serves as Honorary Chairman of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games as the Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner in the category of Still Cameras and Desktop Reprographic Hardware.
