Day 6 at Shooting World Championships

Russia’s Marina Klimenchenko has taken the top spot in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol event today at the 2010 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Shooting World Championships.

With a result of 477.9 points, Klimenchenko was followed by Korea’s Myungsoon Park (466.4 points) and Macedonia’s Olivera Nakovska-Bikova (462.4 points). Coming in fourth and fifth place, Hungary’s Krisztina David and Turkey’s Aysel Ozgan each scored 458.4 points.

The 2010 IPC Shooting World Championships continue through 24 July in Zagreb, Croatia. A total of 246 athletes from 43 countries compete in 31 medal events, including 17 individual and 14 team events.

Shooting is governed by the IPC and co-ordinated by the IPC Shooting Technical Committee following the modified rules of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). These rules take into account the differences that exist between Shooting for the able-bodied and Shooting for persons with a disability.
