French wheelchair rugby team named

Team will compete at April’s European Championships B in Prague, Czech Republic 19 Feb 2015 By NPC France

French national team coach Olivier Cusin has named 12 players who will represent France at April’s wheelchair rugby European Championships B in Prague, Czech Republic.

In order to qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, France will have to make the final in Prague and then excel at September’s European Championships A in Finland.

Two players – Alexandre Bento and Christophe Salegui - feature in the squad for the first time.

Ahead of the Championships in Prague between 11-19 April, the team will first head to compete in the Bernd Best tournament held from 27-29 March in Cologne, Germany.

In Prague, France will come up against Poland, Switzerland, Ireland, Italy, Israel and hosts Czech Republic.
