German International Championships Set For Berlin

A total of about 630 athletes from 47 countries are preparing themselves for the 2010 German International Swimming Championships in Berlin, Germany.

Taking place from 17-20 June at the Swimming and Diving Hall in the Europa-Park, this is the 24th edition of the big event. All athletes will be taking advantage of this opportunity to compete on an elite level, and ultimately preparing for the 2010 IPC Swimming World Championships from 16-23 August in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Some of the events to take place at the competition in Berlin include 100m, 200m, and 400m Freestyle, 50m and 100m Breaststroke, 50m and 200m Backstroke, and 100m and 200m Butterfly.

The 2010 German International Swimming Championships are organized by the Paralympic Sport Club Berlin (PSC), a club dedicated to encourage athletes with and without a disability in competitive sport. The Patron of the event is the Federal Minister of the Interior, Dr. Thomas de Maizière.
