ISSF Meets IPC Shooting

Representatives of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) this week met with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) in Munich, Germany, discussing current and future prospects. 06 May 2010 By IPC

Meeting at the ISSF Headquarters, both ISSF and the IPC took the opportunity to get to know more about each other's rules and regulations, as well as to dicuss areas of common interest. This was the first meeting between ISSF and the IPC, with the main purpose of introducing each organization to the other.

A total of six participants took part in the meeting, including ISSF Executive Director Mr. Franz Schreiber, Member of the ISSF Technical Committee Mr. Max Mückl, IPC Chief Executive Officer Xavier Gonzalez, IPC Shooting Technical Committee Head of Classification Sally Hall, IPC Shooting Sport Manager Athena Charitaki, and IPC Shooting International referee and Member of the ISSF Rifle Committee Willi Grill.

Shooting is governed and managed by the IPC and co-ordinated by the IPC Shooting Sport Technical Committee following the modified rules of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). These rules take into account the differences that exist between Shooting for the able-bodied and Shooting for persons with a disability.
