Korea Hits Day 3 Strong at Shooting World Championships

Two athletes from Korea took first and second place in the 10m Air Rifle Prone event today at the 2010 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Shooting World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

Sungwon Jang was on top with a total of 706.3 points, followed by compatriot Jaeyong Sim who scored 705.9 points. Coming in behind the Korean pair was Great Britain’s Matthew Skelhon in third with 704.6 points. Fourth and fifth places saw Sweden’s Jonas Jakobsson and Slovakia’s Veronika Vadovicova both scoring 703.9 points.

The 2010 IPC Shooting World Championships continue through 24 July in Zagreb, Croatia. A total of 246 athletes from 43 countries compete in 31 medal events, including 17 individual and 14 team events.
