World leading logistics company Kuehne+Nagel has been announced as the Official Logistics Partner of the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, to be held at the newly refurbished Manchester Aquatics Centre from 31 July to 6 August.

Kuehne+Nagel provide highly specialised logistics services for worldwide industries and have a wealth of experience supporting major sporting events, most notably the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. As part of the partnership, Kuehne+Nagel will transport event equipment and complex infrastructure needed to support this inclusive global event which will see over 600 para athletes compete. A sustainable approach will be taken to connect people and goods, advance trade and bring communities together.

Katie Chapman, Event Director at the Para Swimming World Championships, said: “Kuehne+Nagel has a renowned reputation in world class sports events, and an ethos and commitment to sustainability. Creating an event with a lasting legacy for all the right reasons is crucial and we share our determination to deliver this and limit the impact of the event on the environment. A robust logistics solution will be designed and delivered for Manchester 2023 working alongside the expert knowledge and expertise from Kuehne+Nagel.”

Mike Priestley, Director – Expo & Events UK at Kuehne+Nagel said: “We believe in contributing to the world around us and being part of something greater. We see ourselves as bringing people and communities all over the world closer together, and working towards sustainable logistics. The Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships embody this approach and will allow us to bring to life our purpose of making a difference today, for the people of tomorrow.”

The Para Swimming World Championships is the biggest Para swimming event outside of the Paralympic Games. Manchester 2023 will be the third time the World Championships have taken place in Great Britain. The last time at London 2019, 637 swimmers from 77 nations were welcomed with 188 records broken, including 39 world records, and over 143 million people watching around the world – with the stage set for more of the same this summer.
