The 36-page issue looks in depth at how the sports were chosen for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. In January 2015, following a 16 month process, the IPC Governing Board confirmed that 22 sports would be part of the Games in five years’ time with badminton and taekwondo featuring for the first time.

Ahead of a busy summer of sport, the magazine previews a number of upcoming events in ice sledge hockey, judo, football 7-a-side, swimming and cycling. There is also a guide to August’s Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games whilst the Issue of the Season tackles how the Paralympic Movement in the Americas can capitalise on August’s multi-sport event and next year’s Paralympics in Rio. Jose Luis Campo, the President of the Americas Paralympic Committee and Andrew Parsons, President of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee and IPC Vice President give their views on the subject.

There is also a look-back at a number of World Championships that took place in winter and early spring in alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, cycling and wheelchair curling

Finally Ioannis Daras, President of the European Union of Sports Press (AIPS) shares his thoughts on how the Paralympic Movement can generate more media coverage.
