Paralympic event schedule for Paris 2024 revealed

The complete event calendar for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games has been announced. 

It includes the 141 Para swimming medal events which will take place at the Paris La Defense Arena from 29 August to 7 September, always with heats in the mornings and finals in the afternoon-evening sessions.

The men’s 400m freestyle S9 will see the first Para swimming medallists on the podium in the French capital.

The programme concludes on 7 September next year with the mixed 4x100m medley 34 points relay final.

A total of 605 athletes (325 male and 280 female) are set to compete in the La Defense Arena swimming pool.

Para swimming has been part of the Paralympic Games programme since the inaugural edition in Rome, Italy, in 1960.

China finished first in the medal standings at Tokyo 2020 with 19 gold medals and 56 podiums.
