South Korea's Jinho Park set two records on his way to winning the R7 - men’s 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 gold at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre on Tuesday - his second Paris 2024 Paralympic title.

Natascha Hiltrop gave Germany their first gold in Chateauroux in the R8 – women’s 50m rifle 3 positions SH1.

Park scored 454.6 points in the final to break the Paralympic record set in 2016. He broke the event's qualification Games mark in the morning.

China’s Dong Chao, took silver, while Marek Dobrowolski of Poland claimed bronze on his Games debut.

“I was feeling way more nervous than when I won my (other) gold this week. I still don’t believe this is happening. I was waiting a long time to win a gold medal in the Paralympics. Now with my second medal, I think of everyone who has helped me,” Park said.

Chao added a seventh Paralympic medal to his impressive CV, curiously the first silver after three gold and three bronze since Beijing 2008.

"This is my fifth time competing at the Paralympic Games and this is my seventh Paralympic medal. I prepared a long time for this competition. I was a little bit nervous during the final. I managed to come from behind to take silver,” said the Chinese.

In the R8, Hiltrop edged out Slovakian star Veronika Vadovicova to win gold. The German went into the final shot trailing by 0.1, but she fired 9.9 to total 456.5 points, while Vadovicova shot 9.4.

“I started out pretty bad, I am happy I was able to regroup and win. It is a good feeling, but I did not plan it like that,” Hiltrop said.

It was Vadovicova’s 19th Paralympic final and her second medal at Paris 2024 following her gold in the R3 on Sunday.

“I am not counting them. I am sure there has been a lot of them. And I am just happy I was able to get another medal,” said the Slovakian.

Zhang Cuiping took China’s second medal on Tuesday with her bronze.
