Ukraine’s Dmytro Vynohradets returns to Rio as the reigning champion and will dive into the pool to defend his title on Thursday (15 September).

Since this race was taken off the schedule for London 2012, the Beijing 2008 Paralympic champion is hoping to climb onto the top step of the podium once again in Rio.

Signs are looking very good, especially since Vynohradets posted the fastest time this year and broke a new world record, which makes him the clear favourite for the title again.

Italy’s world No. 2 Vincenzo Boni and Spain’s world No. 3 Miguel Angel Martinez Tajuelo will also fight for a spot in the top three.

All the swimming action will be played out at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium between 9-17 September.
