Nearing the halfway point of the shooting competitions at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, rifle shooters will once again take centre stage for R3 (mixed 10m air rifle prone SH1).

The event features a stacked field that includes all three World Championships and London 2012 podium finishers together with a host of current and past finals and qualification world record holders.

South Korea’s Jinho Park is the reigning world champion, and was followed on to the podium back in 2014 by Great Britain’s Matt Skelhon and the United Arab Emirates’ Abdullah Sultan Alaryani.

France’s Cedric Fevre won gold at London 2012, leading Skelhon and China’s Cuiping Zhang with silver and bronze respectively.

Slovakia’s Veronica Vadovicova holds both the qualification and finals world records for the event.

You can catch the R3 on 10 September, the third day of competition at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. All shooting Para sport events will be contested at the Olympic Shooting Centre.
