Wheelchair rugby competition at Rio 2016 will be held from 14 -18 September in the Carioca Arena 1.

The arena is an indoor multi-purpose building, located southwest from Rio de Janeiro in the Barra cluster, which contains the largest concentration of Games venues.

It is Rio 2016’s largest indoor arena, with 16,000 seats, and will also host wheelchair basketball games, as well as stand-up basketball in the Olympics.

The stadium was unveiled on 12 January and has already hosted trial events to ensure it is ready for the upcoming Games.

The venue is conveniently located for the athletes, as it is five minutes from the Paralympic Village.
