Three Teams Remain Undefeated at Wheelchair Rugby Euros

After the second day of action at the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation (IWRF) European Championships in Nottwil, Switzerland, three of the 12 participating teams remain undefeated.

Favourites Sweden, defending champions Belgium and Poland are the only three teams to have won their first two pool games.

On Tuesday (4 October), in Pool A, Sweden defeated Austria, 54-41, and Belgium thrashed the Netherlands, 63-45. Poland swept by France with a 52-49 victory to put itself atop Pool B.

In other action on Tuesday, in Pool A, Finland beat Denmark, 56-53. In Pool B, Germany beat Ireland, 54-32, and Great Britain defeated Switzerland, 46-35.

Following group games, medal-round games will commence on Saturday (8 October) and conclude on Sunday (9 October). Three qualification spots for the London 2012 Paralympic Games are up for grabs for the medal winners, excluding Great Britain, which has automatically qualified for next year as the host nation.
