Tokyo 2020: LIXIL first presenting partner for Paralympic Torch Relay

LIXIL, a maker of pioneering water and housing products, had joined force with Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be the first Presenting Partner for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Torch Relay.

As a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner, with the slogan ‘Change the future through OMOIYARI & OMOTENASHI,’ LIXIL has been orchestrating activities to make better living a reality for everyone, such as the ‘Universal Run’ program for children to experience what it’s like to use a prosthetic leg for sports.
    
The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Torch Relay aims to use the opportunity of 2020 to encourage a more inclusive society. In the same spirit, LIXIL has pursued universal design and accessibility for all in its products and has facilitated activities that deepen the understanding of diversity throughout its past.

LIXIL also manufactured the material used for the Paralympic Torch, which was created from windows sashes and other components from the temporary housing for evacuees of the Great East Japan Earthquake as new symbols of hope to pass along to the future.
 
Going forward, in line with the ‘Share Your Light’ concept for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Torch Relay, LIXIL will recruit torchbearers and conduct other events to contribute to the success of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Torch Relay.
