USA Announces National Team for Rowing Worlds

The USA recently named its team that will compete at the 2011 World Rowing Championships which take place from 28 August – 4 September in Bled, Slovenia.

Anthony Davis and Jacqui Kapinowski earned a berth in the mixed trunk and arms double sculls after winning their event at the 2011 Adaptive World Championships Trials on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.

Ron Harvey, a 2008 Paralympian and eight-time national team member, will represent Team USA in the men’s single sculls and Tricia Downing will represent the Americans in the women’s single sculls. Downing competed for the U.S. National Triathlon Team prior to taking up rowing just a few short months ago.

The lineup of Alex Stein, Eric McDaniel, Emma Preuschl, Eleni Englert and Andrew Johnson will represent the USA in the adaptive mixed four with coxswain crew.
