The reigning Doubles Masters Champions, France’s Stephane Houdet and Japan’s Shingo Kunieda, are also in the field after winning their second Roland Garros title last week.

The entries have been confirmed for the Wimbledon Wheelchair Tennis Doubles Event, a part of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour and the third Grand Slam of the year, which takes place from 5-7 July in Great Britain.

The top three ranked doubles partnerships at the entry deadline, plus one wildcard pairing, make up the four pairings for the men's and women's events.

The men’s entries include reigning champions Tom Egberink of the Netherlands and Michael Jeremiasz of France, who were also the 2011 Doubles Masters champions.

The reigning Doubles Masters Champions, France’s Stephane Houdet and Japan’s Shingo Kunieda, are also in the field after winning their second Roland Garros title last week.

Houdet and Kunieda were the runners-up at Wimbledon in 2010, a year in which they also won the Australian Open doubles title before going on to win the first of their Roland Garros titles later that season.

The Netherlands’ Maikel Scheffers, a former winner of the men’s doubles at Wimbledon, will partner with Great Britain’s Gordon Reid this after Reid reached the men’s doubles final last week on his debut at Roland Garros.

France’s Frederic Cattaneo, a runner-up at Roland Garros in 2012, partners another former Wimbledon champion, Dutchman Ronald Vink.

The women’s entries include defending champions Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot of the Netherlands, who also won the Australian Open and Roland Garros women’s doubles titles since their victory at Wimbledon in 2012, as well as winning the women’s doubles silver medal at the London 2012 Paralympics.

Among their opposition will be Germany’s Sabine Ellerbrock and the Netherlands’ Sharon Walraven – the same partnership that Griffioen and van Koot beat in last week’s Roland Garros final.

Australian Open runners-up Marjolein Buis of Netherlands and Lucy Shuker of Great Britain, who were also semi-finalists at Roland Garros, will pair up at Wimbledon for the first time.

Jordanne Whiley, with whom Shuker reached the Wimbledon final in 2012, partners Japan’s Yui Kamiji this year. Kamiji and Whiley won last week’s Korea Open in their first ever tournament together.

A total of GBP 38,000 (EUR 45,000) in prize money is on offer in 2013 for the Wheelchair Tennis Doubles events at Wimbledon.
