"The company has produced sports and swimming goggles for more than 70 years and we are delighted to see their engagement and commitment to develop Para swimming specific equipment."

World Para Swimming has announced a two-year partnership on 1 September with Japanese eyewear manufacturer Yamamoto Kogaku Co., Ltd, producer of the swimming goggles SWANS.

Under the deal, Yamamoto Kogaku Co., Ltd. will be the official approved supplier of World Para Swimming equipment, specifically SWANS blackened goggles for visually impaired classes S/SB/SM 11 swimmers.

SWANS blackened goggles comply with the World Para Swimming rules and regulations and swimmers can wear them in competition without concerns about disqualification (pending final goggle check at the end of their race by the technical officials).

The partnership includes the distribution of 40 SWANS blackened goggles to athletes taking part in the World Para Swimming Championships, from 30 September to 6 October in Mexico City.

“We are pleased to announce the partnership with Yamamoto Kogaku Co., Ltd. ahead of the World Para Swimming Championships in Mexico. The company has produced sports and swimming goggles for more than 70 years and we are delighted to see their engagement and commitment to develop Para swimming specific equipment,” says Ryan Montgomery, IPC Summer Sports Director.

“We are honoured to enter the partnership agreement with IPC as an official supplier to World Para Swimming. Since the inception of our company in 1911, we have been providing safety, security, health and comfort to our customers, based on our technology to control light. We hope that our SWANS blackened goggles could help visually impaired swimmers in classes S/SB/SM11 to improve their performance somehow and moreover we could contribute to the further encouragement of Para sports,” says Naoyuki Yamamoto, Yamamoto Kogaku Co., Ltd. President & CEO.
