The Lasko 2020 European 10m Championships scheduled in November in Slovenia has been cancelled.

The decision was announced on Monday (6 July) by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Slovenia, the Lasko 2020 Local Organising Committee (LOC).

In April, the competition initially scheduled for 11-19 June had been postponed to 20-25 November due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the government of Slovenia has now issued new restrictions for indoor public events and imposed quarantine for travellers from certain European countries in attempt to contain a new coronavirus outbreak in the region.

Due to the uncertainties caused by the pandemic, the LOC has decided to officially cancel the competition.

Lasko was set to host the second edition of the European 10m Championships.

Belgrade, Serbia, hosted the first edition in 2018 with 122 athletes from 27 countries.
