Central African Republic at the Rio 2016 Paralympics

·Central African Republic has yet to claim its first medal at the Paralympic Summer Games.

·The NPC made its debut at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games.

·Only two athletes have competed for Central African Republic at the Paralympic Games - Thibaut Bomaya in 2004 and Rosel-Clemariot-Christian Nikoua in 2008 and 2012.

·Powerlifter Bomaya finished in 11th place in the men's 56kg.

·Nikoua claimed respectively a 14th and 12th place in the men's shot put F40 in 2008 and 2012. His best result, though, was a sixth place in the men's javelin throw F40 in 2012.

·There is no rights holding broadcaster in Central African Republic, but the Paralympic Games can be watched live via the IPC’s website at www.paralympic.org.
