Georgia at the Rio 2016 Paralympics

·Georgia has yet to claim its first medal at the Paralympic Summer Games.

·The NPC made its debut at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.

·Wheelchair fencers Irma Khetsuriani and Diana Jishiashvili finished at the podium in their respective disciplines at the 2015 IPC Wheelchair Fencing World Championships in Eger and the 2016 European Championships. Khetsuriani finished second in women's individual sabre B at both events, whereas Jishiasvili came in third in women's individual epee C on both occasions.

·Zviadi Gogochuri became European champion in the men's judo 90kg in 2015 in Odivilas.

·There is no rights holding broadcaster in Georgia, but the Paralympic Games can be watched live via the IPC’s website.
