·Islamic Republic of Iran has claimed 112 medals at the Paralympic Summer Games: G47-S28-B37.

·Sydney 2000 were Iran's most successful Paralympic Games to date, winning 12 gold medals (S4-B7).

·The NPC made its debut at the Seoul 1988 Paralympic Games.

·Iran is in 30th place on the Summer Games' all-time medal table.

·The NPC has been most successful in athletics, claiming 30 gold, 18 silver and 23 bronze medals.

·Athlete Ghader Modabber Raz is Iran's most successful Paralympian in individual events: G5-B1.

·Iran has won a medal in sitting volleyball in each of their seven appearances at the Paralympic Games (G5-S2). Ramezan Salehi Hajikolaei is on the IPC's ones-to-watch list for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

·Zahra Nemati has qualified for both the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She became the first Iranian woman to win an Olympic or Paralympic gold medal when she won individual recurve W1/W2 in London four years ago.

·Nemati also claimed a bronze medal in London in women's team recurve open. She is on the IPC's ones-to-watch list for Rio 2016.

·Powerlifter and IPC’s one to watch Siamand Rahman is labelled the “strongest Paralympian on the planet” looking to lift 300kg at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
