Turkey at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games

·Turkey has claimed 14 medals at the Paralympic Games: G3-S5-B6.
·The London 2012 Paralympic Games were Turkey's most successful Paralympic Games to date, winning one gold medal (S5-B4).
·The NPC made its debut at the Barcelona 1992 Paralympic Games.
·Turkey is in 64th place on the Summer Games' all-time medal table.
·The NPC has been most successful in shooting and powerlifting, claiming one gold, one silver and one bronze medal in each of those sports.
·Shootist Korhan Yamac is Turkey's most successful Paralympian in individual events: G1-S1-B1.
·Nazmiye Muratli won Turkey's only gold medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, in women's 40kg powerlifting.
·Muratli is on the IPC's ones-to-watch list for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. She won the world title in 2014 and European title in 2015 in the women's up to 41kg.
·Turkey's men's basketball team are aiming to claim the NPCs first medal in this sport at the Paralympic Games. They finished seventh in this event in London, but came
respectively third and second at the 2014 World Championships in Incheon and the 2015 European Championships in Worcester. Özgür Gürbulak was part of the squad at
all three tournaments and is one of the IPC's ones-to-watch.
·Neslihan Kavas has collected three medals in table tennis at the Paralympic Games, a bronze medal in women's single class 9 at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games and
two silver medals in London (single class 9 and team class 6-10).
