Frech was just 7 years old when he watched the Paralympics in London, looking on as his friends like Rudy Garcia Tolson won medals in the pool. But it was Rio 2016 that really inspired him to train for Tokyo 2020. He showed his potential, winning three medals at the 2019 World Para Athletics Junior Championships in Nottwil – gold in the high jump (T45-64) and bronze in the 100m and long jump – on his international debut.

He is going for bigger heights at his Paralympic debut.
