Organised by US Paralympics, the Indianapolis World Series is the penultimate event on the calendar.

At this point swimmers will be just over four months away from the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships taking place in Mexico City from 30 September – 6 October.

Indianapolis therefore offers the chance for athletes from the Americas to assess their form ahead of the next major event in their region.

The venue, the Indiana University Natatorium, has hosted various Olympic swimming trials since it opened in 1982 and has been treated to a USD 20 million renovation in recent years.
