Meet Milo – the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games Mascot
Milo is a friendly stoat who will share the excitement and joy of Paralympic winter sports at Milano Cortina 2026. He will work together with his sister Tina, the Olympic mascot. The siblings are young and playful, making them likely the first Gen Z mascots of the Paralympics and the Olympics.
Milo is always creative, active and curious. He has a hands-on approach to life: he loves coming up with new inventions and building things out of wood from the forest he lives in. Milo was born without a right leg and learned to use his tail to walk.
Get to Know: The Design and the Symbolism
Stoats are known for their liveliness, agility and speed. They are able to adapt to their environment very well, as their fur colour can change according to the season and they are able to live in the challenging habitat of the mountains. These qualities underline their resilience.
Milo and Tina were designed by students of the Istituto Comprensivo of Taverna from the region of Calabria. The Organising Committee collaborated with the Italian Ministry of Education to gather ideas for the mascots’ design. Primary and secondary school students from all over Italy submitted over 1,600 ideas. Milo and Tina were unveiled during the Sanremo Music Festival in 2024, following a public poll to decide on the designs of the mascots.
Their names were inspired by the cities where the Games will take place: “Milo” comes from Milano and “Tina” is a shortened version of Cortina.
Milo and Tina’s Sidekicks: The Flo
Milo and Tina are not going to be alone in their journey to the Milano Cortina 2026 Games. They will be accompanied by six little snowdrops called the Flo. They love being outdoors and having fun, as well as discovering new things and making friends.
The Flo were one of the two shortlisted ideas and were designed by students at the Istituto Comprensivo Sabin of Segrate in the region of Lombardia.
