PRESS ACCREDITATION PROCESS
The press accreditation process for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games started in December 2024 when the IPC officially notified National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) with the potential for competing athletes of their press accreditation quota allocations.
NPCs and the IPC return Press by Number form and requests for ENR accreditation to Milano Cortina 2026.
NPCs and directly accredited press organisations must submit their Press by Name accreditation applications to Milano Cortina 2026 through the online accreditation system.
* Please note NPCs and the IPC may set an earlier deadline for press organisations and/or freelancers to request accreditation.
WRITTEN PRESS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS
Each National Paralympic Committee (NPC) was allocated a limited number of press accreditations for issue to press organisations and/or freelancers within its own territory. Therefore, representatives of written and photographic press who wish to apply for press accreditation must contact the NPC within the territory where their organisation is based. Please click here to access the contact information for each NPC.
All photographers accredited for the Paralympic Winter Games must sign the Photographer's Undertaking.
Press organisations with operations across multiple territories or those unable to request accreditation through an NPC should send their request to media.accreditation@paralympic.org prior to 31 March 2025.
NON-MEDIA RIGHTS-HOLDER (ENR) ACCREDITATION AND NEWS ACCESS RULES
A limited number of non-Media Rights-Holding (ENR) accreditations are available for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, and all nominations by the respective NPCs, as well as quota requests, are subject to review by the IPC.
Successful ENR applicants will have to abide by the News Access Rules. They will be required to sign the ENR Undertaking, related to these Rules ahead of the Games to have their accreditation granted.
ENR Undertakings shall be returned to the IPC Media Operations, no later than 30 November 2025 at media.accreditation@paralympic.org. Failing to provide the signed ENR Undertaking will imply that the PIAC for the Accredited Personnel will not be validated for the Games.
News Access Rules are designed to protect the exclusivity of broadcasters that have paid for rights while permitting fair access for ENRs to broadcast highlights for news purposes. The document outlines the rules that apply to coverage by ENR organisations, as well as venue access rules and restrictions within the host city and country.
Please note that accredited ENRs are not entitled to film or record audio in any Paralympic venue, including all competition venues and the Paralympic Village. Within the perimeters of Paralympic venues, ENR accredited media shall work as written press journalists.
The Milano Cortina 2026 News Access Rules and the ENR Undertaking can be downloaded at the top of this page or in the Guides and Policies section.
NON-MEDIA RIGHTS-HOLDER (ENR) ACCREDITATION PROCESS
In a change to previous Paralympic Winter Games, non-Media Rights-Holding radio and/or television (TV) broadcasting organisations wishing to cover the Paralympic Winter Games must now be nominated by the respective NPC during the Press by Number stage.
The latest date for Milano Cortina 2026 to receive ENR requests for review by the IPC will align with the Press by Number deadline. There will be no further opportunities for non-Media Rights-Holding radio and/or television (TV) broadcasting organisations to be nominated for ENR accreditations by their NPC after this Press by Number deadline of 7 April 2025.
NPCs wishing to support interested non-Media Rights-Holding radio and/or television (TV) broadcasting organisations with early feedback from the IPC should consider submitting ENR requests for the first-round deadline of 7 February 2025 for the first wave of ENR accreditation approvals.
ENR accreditations for non-Media Rights-Holding radio and/or TV broadcasting organisations are limited in number and a request received by the IPC may be successful, partially successful or unsuccessful.
Please note, the IPC will facilitate requests for ENR accreditations for non-Media Rights-Holding radio and/or TV broadcasting organisations with cross-border presence, without an NPC within their territory, or where the NPC does not expect to have athletes at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games and for those unsuccessful in negotiating Media Rights.
By exception, requests for ENR accreditation can be sent to media.accreditation@paralympic.org prior to 31 March 2025.
Further information regarding the Non-MRH (ENR) accreditation process for NPCs can be found in the Milano Cortina 2026 Press by Number Guide.
* Please note NPCs may set an earlier deadline for non-media Rights-Holding radio and/or TV broadcasting organisations to request accreditation.
