2011 All-Africa Games Open in Mozambique

The 2011 All-Africa Games began with an influential Opening Ceremony on Friday (3 September) at the brand new National Stadium in Maputo, Mozambique.

Mozambique President Armando Emilio Guebuza was in attendance for a programme that focused on how sports can help change society for the better throughout Africa.

A total of 125 para-athletes from 24 countries will compete in the 26 scheduled Athletics events, which begin on 11 September.

This year’s event marks the 10-year anniversary of the All-Africa Games.
