Aggreko to power London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships

Glasgow-based Aggreko has been announced as the national supplier of temporary power and temperature control services for the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships.

Running from 14 – 23 July at the London Stadium and incorporating 16 sessions, Aggreko will provide generators, cables and distribution panels to meet the specialist energy requirements of the Championships.

Aggreko’s events services are renowned throughout the world, as the go-to supplier of power and temperature control for events ranging from major sporting events, such as Olympics and Paralympic Games, golf, tennis, football and rugby championships, music festivals and TV and movie productions.

The World Para Athletics Championships, along with the IAAF World Championships London 2017 that follow from 4 – 13 August, are the biggest sporting event of the year with more than 3,000 athletes from over 200 nations set to compete.

The biggest event to be staged at the London Stadium since the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games – it is the first time both the World Para Athletics Championships and IAAF World Championships have been held in the same city in the same year. Aggreko were appointed following a competitive tender process.
