Paris is hosting the first Para Athletics World Championships in four years with more than 1,300 athletes from 107 nations competing in 168 medal events at the Charlety Stadium.

Allianz, one of the world’s leading insurers, is an Official Partner of the Paris 23 Para Athletics World Championships. This is the first time the biggest single Para sport event on the planet takes place in the same host city of the Paralympic Games one year before the Paralympics.

Allianz’s support to Para sports dates back to 2006 and Paris will mark the third time the company becomes a Para Athletics World Championships sponsor, after Doha 2015 and London 2017.

As part of the partnership, Allianz has exclusive branding on all athletes bibs at the World Championships which takes place in the Charlety Stadium from 8 to 17 July.

Paul Fitzgerald, Head of World Para Athletics, said: “We are excited to have Allianz on board to support the Paris 23 World Championships. This partnership not only provides increased resources but also an invaluable platform to raise interest and awareness about Para athletics worldwide this July. It has been a long four years since we last held this competition and we are looking forward to a fantastic event.”

Eike Buergel, Allianz Global Head of Olympic and Paralympic Programme, said: “We’re proud to be partner of the Para Athletics World Championships again. Allianz has been supporting the Paralympic Movement and its athlete community since 2006, aiming for an inclusive world through Para sport. The event in Paris will boost awareness for the movement, especially in the host country of France that will also deliver the Olympic & Paralympic Games next year. To provide the best possible competition for all athletes, we’re happy to further assist with Allianz colleagues volunteering at the event.”
