“The outreach booth set up at the IPC Athletics World Championships is designed to give everyone the chance to discuss anti-doping and to test their knowledge on the subject by playing the World Anti-Doping Agency Play True Quiz. It has been great to see the athletes’ enthusiasm for playing the quiz and wanting to know more about the rules.”

Anti-doping experts have been present at this week’s IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France, raising awareness about anti-doping rules and regulations and answering questions from any athletes, coaches or National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) present.

IPC Anti-Doping Senior Manager Vanessa Webb and Doping Control Officer Zacharias Tsagkas are the experts behind the booth in the athlete dining hall, which is operational for five days during the Championships.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) quiz is being offered at the booth in 31 different languages, and athletes are encouraged to take the quiz to win a prize.

Tsagkas, who has been a Doping Control Officer since 1987, said: “Athletes, coaches and support personnel need to know that there are always people available to talk to about anti-doping matters.
