Canada Wins 2008 World Ice Sledge Hockey Challenge

The Canadian Ice Sledge Hockey National Team recently won the 2008 World Ice Sledge Hockey Challenge after defeating Norway 7:0. 02 Dec 2008 By IPC

The event, which also included Japan and the United States, was held at the CARI Complex in Charlottetown, Canada. The format of the event was a four-team round-robin, followed by bronze and gold medal matches.

In the bronze-medal match, the US team scored three goals in the first period, four in the second and two in the third for a 9:0 victory over Japan.

The next important Ice Sledge Hockey tournament will be held in Vancouver, Canada, in February 2009. The event will include Canada, Germany, Japan, and the United States and will be a test event for the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. Before, from 10-17 January 2009, there will be a Four-Nations Cup held in Nagano, Japan.
