Colorado Springs to host 2014 IBSA Judo Worlds

The last IBSA Judo World Championships took place in 2011 in Antalya, Turkey, drawing 245 visually impaired judokas from 38 countries.

IBSA has confirmed that the 2014 IBSA Judo World Championships will be held from 1-7 September in Colorado Springs, USA, and will serve as the first qualifying event for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The Championships will take place at the US Olympic Training Centre at a state-of-the-art training and competition venue featuring athlete dorms, a full service cafeteria, and venue with seating for 1,500 spectators.

The last IBSA Judo World Championships took place in 2011 in Antalya, Turkey, drawing 245 visually impaired judokas from 38 countries. Azerbaijan topped the medals table, followed by China and Algeria.
