Evenbreak, a multi-award-winning online job board for disabled candidates, has been announced as the Official Recruitment Partner of the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, which will be held at the newly refurbished Manchester Aquatics Centre from 31 July to 6 August.

Founded in 2011, Evenbreak is a global social enterprise committed to supporting disabled candidates gain employment with inclusive employers.  A business born out of two key societal challenges; supporting people with a disability to identify inclusive employers, and employers struggling to attract a diverse workforce, Evenbreak provides a solution which connects these two audiences via the UK’s most accessible job board, which currently offers over 19,000 jobs from brands such as Allianz, Apple, Channel 4, M&S, PwC, Tesco, Unilever and Vodafone.

The social enterprise’s team are all disabled, and have lived experiences of the challenges faced by the tens of thousands of candidates currently registered on the Evenbreak job board. With candidates based both in the United Kingdom and around the world, the partnership will help Evenbreak expand their business by increasing brand awareness and subsequent candidate engagement. Evenbreak will also use their skills and knowledge to support the event in a range of ways including volunteer training and recruitment advice to athletes.

Katie Chapman, Event Director of the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, said: “To partner with a company like Evenbreak is incredibly exciting for us as we both strive to create positive opportunities and experiences for persons with a disability. Working together we can continue to break down barriers and promote the benefits of, and good practice around employing disabled people.”

Jane Hatton, Founder and CEO at Evenbreak, added: “Evenbreak is thrilled to be supporting the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, demonstrating the skills of these amazing athletes. Disabled people have so much to offer – in sport, in the workplace, and in society, and we are proud to be involved with this prestigious sporting event.”

The Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships will be the biggest Para swimming event outside of the Paralympic Games and one that could be influential for many on the road to Paris 2024. Manchester will be the third city to host the World Championships, following London and Glasgow.  London 2019 saw over 600 swimmers from 77 nations compete with 188 records broken, including 39 world records and over 143 million people watching around the world – with the stage set for more of the same this summer.
