The Australian duo of Gavin Bellis and Kathyrn Ross has been named the 2013 World Rowing Para-Crew of the Year after winning gold in the TA mixed double sculls event at August’s World Championships in Chungju, South Korea.

This season, the pair performed much better than their fifth-place finish at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Ross, the more accomplished member of the crew, is a two-time Paralympian and has won previous medals at the World Championships, but this season was the first time she ever won gold at the event.

Medals will be presented to Bellis and Ross, along with the rest of the World Rowing award recipients, at a gala dinner on Friday (8 November) in the Estonian capital of Tallinn.
