IPC Powerlifting Committee Meets in Bonn

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Powerlifting Sport Technical Committee (STC) conducted its first meeting this year in Bonn, Germany. 22 Jan 2010 By IPC

Taking place from 15-16 January, the Management Team of the IPC met with STC members to discuss plans for 2010, as well as for the next five years regarding competitions and education opportunities for referees, classifiers and coaches.

Several topics held much of the discussion including the business plan, classification, licensing programme and education. Additionally, competitions were also reviewed, with the resulting information being directly placed on the IPC Powerlifting website calendar.

Members who attended the meeting included Chairperson Jon Amos, Vice Chairperson Lt. Cdr. Kamaruzaman Kadir, Head of Classification Dr. Hossam Eldin Mostafa, Head of Officiating Azzam Al-Zubi, Head of Competition Fathi Ali Lashehab, and IPC Powerlifting Sport Manager Athena Charitaki.

More detailed information with upcoming competitions, including this summer’s 2010 IPC Powerlifting World Championships will be provided in the coming weeks.
