The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced the judo Ones to Watch ahead of the 2019 Judo International Qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, from 3-5 July in Fort Wayne, USA.

These are athletes who have the potential to make headlines, especially with the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games fast approaching. Their biographies are now available on the IPC website.

Antonio Tenorio (BRA)

Rio 2016 silver medallist could go for a seventh medal at Tokyo 2020.

Inna Cherniak (UKR)

Took the 2018 World Championships title, continuing her success since moving down to the women’s up to 52kg.

Lenia Ruvalcaba (MEX)

Mexico’s first female judoka to win gold at an Olympics or Paralympics is on pace to collect more.

Sandrine Martinet (FRA)

Twelve years after her first Worlds gold, the French is not done yet, having taken bronze at the 2018 Worlds.

Sherzod Namozov (UZB)

Since bursting onto the scene judo in 2014, Namozov has become the man to beat in the men’s up to 60kg.
