Korean Ice Sledge Hockey Team Picks Up 2nd Win

Athletes from Korea gave the team its second win at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Ice Sledge Hockey Paralympic Winter Games Qualification Tournament today.

In the first game of the day in Malmö, Sweden, Korea once again was on top, winning against Estonia 5:0. Athlete Jung Seung Hwan was the high scorer on the ice, shooting three successful goals. Other scorers for Korea were Sa Sung Keun and Kim Dea Jung.

For the second game, Sweden edged by Germany 3:2, after winning in overtime with Marcus Holm’s shot into the goal. The heated battle also saw Sweden’s Jens Kask scoring the second goal for the team just one second before the game was over.

The IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Qualification Tournament will continue in Malmö, Sweden, through 13 November. All of the athletes in Malmö have had the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games on their minds, as the Qualification Tournament secures placement at the Games for the top two finishers.
