Lithuania to host judo tournament and training camp

The Lithuanian Blind Sports Federation has announced it will stage a Judo Tournament and Training Camp for Blind & Visually Impaired, at the Sports Base of the Lithuanian Olympic Sports Centre in Trakai, Lithuania, between 15 and 16 September.

The men’s -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg and +100kg; and women’s -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg and +70kg events will be contested. All teams will be accommodated in the double and triple bedrooms of the Trakai Sports Base of the Lithuanian Olympic Sports Center.

Competition will take place on 15 September and the training camp the following day. Lithuania’s sole judo representative at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Osvaldas Bareikis is expected to compete.

This event will also serve as preparation ahead of the IBSA Judo World Cup in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, between 29 and 30 October, and the World Championships in Lisbon, Portugal, from 16-18 November.
