Miranda picked up world titles in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle S4 events in August, much to the delight of her fans at home.
Nely Miranda has been announced as the winner of the 2013 National Sports Award in Mexico following her performance at the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal, Canada.
After much deliberation long into the night, the triple gold medallist from Montreal was revealed as the winner of 650,000 Pesos (37,000 Euro) and a Diploma from Enrique Peña Nieto, President of the Republic.
Miranda picked up world titles in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle S4 events in August, much to the delight of her fans at home.
The 41 year-old also picked up two golds at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games in the 50m and 100m freestyle S4.
The next major international competition for Miranda will be the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland where she will be defending her three titles.
