The 2017 World Para Ice Hockey Sport Forum Meeting took place in Frankfurt, Germany, between 11-12 May.

The 2017 World Para Ice Hockey Sport Forum Meeting took place in Frankfurt, Germany, between 11-12 May, with 19 representatives from 13 countries in attendance.

Apart from Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, South Korea, Sweden and the United States, Kazakhstan was also part of the Forum as an observer as they aim to start developing the sport across the country.

Representatives from both the PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games Organising Committees participated in the event to learn more about Para ice hockey and network with the different countries.

The different topics covered during the two-day long Forum were classification and how to reach code compliance, competition structure, bidding and hosting of events and equipment.

The countries were also updated on development initiatives taken by World Para Ice Hockey, whilst the different attendants also gave their opinion on how to improve the rules.
