The 177 medal events in Para athletics at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will take place in the Olympic Stadium from 8-18 September, with 1,100 athletes expected to compete.
This venue, located in the Engenho de Dentro neighborhood, was built for the 2007 Pan American Games and is the home ground of Botafogo Football Club. For the Games its capacity has been increased from 45,000 to 60,000.
A new Mondo track was recently laid for the Rio 2016 Games giving athletes the best possible conditions to clock fast times and distances.

The IPC’s Global ATR is Jet Set Sports, and Rio 2016 tickets and packages can be purchased on the CoSport website.
