“It’s been a great championships for me, I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m absolutely delighted to have won the gold medal.”

WOMEN’S 100M T13 - Erin McBride (GBR) – winner – 13.58s

“I don’t think it will sink in for a while. I never really expected to get gold. I was disappointed after yesterday because I picked up an injury, but when I got back to the hotel I had the whole team behind me. They gave me a bit more confidence that I could come back today and win gold.

“I was just thinking I need to get through it. Hopefully I can keep progressing from here and get more gold medals in the future.”

WOMEN’S LONG JUMP T12 - Sara Martinez (ESP) – winner – 5.35m

“That’s my first gold medal. I have won silver and bronze before but it’s a nice to get a gold. it was a little cold and the conditions made it hard to get a good long jump. I’m pleased to have won.”

MEN’S 400M T44 - David Behre (GER) – winner – 51.97s

“I’ve got a big support here in Swansea and that really helps. The time was not so good but it’s a bit cold here which isn’t good for sprinting. I felt really comfortable.

“I’m competing again in the 200m so it’s good to start the championships with a gold medal. I’m hoping for another one.”

WOMEN’S 400M T20 - Marianne Verdonk (NED) – winner – 1:02.29s (personal best)

“I’m very pleased with the first place. I ran out from the start of the race and I had to work for it in the last 100m. My coach told me to go for it from the start and I’d succeed. Everything went well I’m very happy with the gold medal.”

MEN’S 800M T38 - Winner Michael McKillop (Ireland) time 1.58.16

“To be able to come off the track after the difficult last 18 months I have had is great, I’m glad to be back. After the World Championships I got injured and I haven’t run the 800m for eight months before today so I was going into the unknown. I’m just glad I was able to run a quick enough time to win.”

MEN’S 800M T34 - Winner Henry Manni (Finland) 1.54.61

“I’m very happy, the race was good. The time was not the best but the win is what I wanted. It’s my second medal of the Championships and I have still got more events to come. I am looking forward to the rest of the week.”

100M T51 - Winner: Toni Piispanen (FIN) – 23.56s

“Everything was superb. I wanted a quick start and I managed to do it quite well. I also got up to a good maximum speed, which was really good. The conditions were a little bad but I kept my head down and the wind wasn’t affecting me too much. It’s my first European title and it is special because the competition is so tough.”

MEN’S LONG JUMP T47 - Winner: Georgios Kostakis (GRE) – 6.50m

“I’m very happy with a second gold medal. I trained hard during the year and everything has gone ok. I was a little tired after yesterday and there was a little wind again. But it turned out ok. I coped with the conditions the best I could.”

MEN’S 400M T52 - Winner: Thomas Geierspichler (AUT) – 1:05.71s

“I did really well for the first 150m, but then I felt the acid in my arms make them go really heavy. I just carried on – the wind was ok. It is great to think I’ve won a second medal.”

MEN’S 400M T54 - Winner: Kenny Van Weeghel (NED) 48.35s

“It’s very good to win against Marcel and Marc. It’s just too bad David Weir wasn’t here. It felt good and I expected over the last 150m that Marc and Marcel would gain on me, but I managed to find my power in the last 100m. I knew it was going to be tricky in the wind but you just have to keep on pushing.

“I wasn’t expecting to win gold. Normally I’m good over the first 150m but slow down after the corner. Thankfully I managed to keep it.”

MEN’S 400M T12 - Winner: Thomas Ulbricht (GER) – 50.27s

“It was a good feeling. I was good in the race. After 300m it was hard and then I saw the Portuguese athlete and it was an 80m fight. I was great.”

MEN’S 100M T53 - Winner: Mickey Bushell (GBR) – 15.58s

“It’s great to become a European gold medallist in front of a home crowd. The crowd carried me along they were fantastic once again. Sprints are definitely more my thing. I’ve got the 200m tomorrow so hopefully I can get another medal.”

WOMEN’S 100M T35 - Winner: Maria Lyle (GBR) – 14.92s

“That was really good – I’m super pleased. I’ve been training hard and now it’s onto the World Championships.”

MEN’S DISCUS F37/38 - Winner: Mykola Zhabnyak (UKR) – 54.89m (1015 points)

“I’ve been training very hard for the European Championships. It was as important to me as the World Championships. I’m very pleased to win gold against some very good competitors.”

MEN’S HIGH JUMP T42 - Winner: Lukasz Mamczarx (POL) – 1.71m

“This is my first major title. I’ve won bronze medals before but to win a gold medal is very special. The crowd were excellent and I tried to go for my European record, but maybe I’ll break it next year.”

MEN’S JAVELIN F34 - Winner: Daniel Scheil (GER) – 26.75m (PB)

“It was a good competition but it was quite cold out there. The wind was coming from behind and it wasn’t so easy to throw. We expected to win and I am very happy. This is the second medal as I already won the discus yesterday.”

MEN’S 1500M T54 - Winner: Marcel Hug (SUI) – 3:21.55s

“It was a tactical race, I just tried to stay in the lead and it went how I wanted it to. I felt a lot better in this race I had a much better chance to warm up on the track. I was also quite nervous in the first race and that affected my position, this was my second race and I feel a lot better. I am looking forward to the rest of the week.”

WOMEN’S 5,000 T54 - Winner: Manuela Schaer (SUI) – 13:20.04s

“I’m really happy. It’s not a very fast or easy track. Breaking away so early I was really happy that I could finish it. I’m very pleased with my result.”

MEN’S JAVELIN F41 - Winner: Mathias Mester (GER) – 38.69m

“My competition was good but my distance was not good - my personal best is over 41 metres. It was very windy. I am European champion and that is the main thing at the finish.”

LONG JUMP T37 - Winner: Andriy Onufriyenko (UKR) – 5.71m

“The long jump is my favourite event. I had hoped to do better but I am happy with the result. My first attempt was a perfect jump but the wind was just too strong for it to be legal. But I am very happy with the result, I was nervous but this is a very good feeling.”
