One and half million tickets have gone on sale for the Summer of World Athletics - the World Para Athletics Championships and the IAAF World Championships London 2017 – with applications opening on Monday (1 August) at the London 2017 ticket website.

London 2017 is the biggest global sporting event to take place next summer and will bring together 3,300 world-class athletes from more than 200 countries, who will compete in 30 sessions across 20 jam-packed and action-fuelled days.

The general public ticket ballot opens for applications on Monday (1 August) at 10.00 BST and closes at 20.17 BST on 29 August 2016. A million tickets cost £35 or less, with tickets for adults starting from just GBP 20 for IAAF World Championships and GBP 10 for World Para Athletics Championships. Child tickets for all sessions cost under GBP 10 across both Championships.

For the first time ever, there are athlete-themed ‘World Record’ ticket prices to reflect World Records set at previous IAAF World Championships. Tickets for one session at one price point will be available for: GBP 12.91 (Colin Jackson’s 110m hurdles), GBP 18.29 (Jonathan Edwards’ triple jump) and GBP 52.74 (Sally Gunnell’s 400m hurdles). All children’s tickets will be priced at GBP 9.58 (Usain Bolt’s 100m).

‘The Race Is On’ campaign for the biggest sporting event of 2017 is spearheaded by a 90 second film released this week and is set to galvanise the nation. Click here to view the film. Stills from the film are available here.

However this time they will be competing for coveted world titles, which is guaranteed to make them even more hungry for success. The anticipation is really building now and we are hugely excited by what is to come. If you miss it, with tickets starting at just £10, you will be missing out.”

Like other World Championships, the British team will turn up and put on fantastic performances for the public to witness – it would mean everything to us to have a full-house cheering us on.”
