The USA have selected their 13-strong team after successful trials.

Team USA has announced their women’s ice sledge hockey team after some successful trials held in Blaine, Minnesota, USA.

19 women attended the trials, and after three practice sessions and an intra-squad game, head coach Shawna Davidson and assistant coach Rose Misiewicz selected a team of 13 players and two alternates.

The selected players will travel throughout the USA from October to May playing games against other teams, but most importantly will compete in the first ever IPC Ice Sledge Hockey International Women’s Cup against Canada and Team Europe in Ontario, Canada, from 7-9 November.

The squad, which includes 10 players returning from last season, is as follows:

Kelsey DiClaudio, Christina Gardner, Robynne Hill, Morgan Hosbrough, Kelly Lavoie, Daniella Robbins, Khrista Matthews, Erica Mitchell, Nina Nissly and Karen Smith. Three new players join the team this year, and they are Susie Kluting, Sara Tabor and Laurie Wood.

The two selected alternates who will attend select events and serve as a reserve in case of injury are Abby Hess and Monica Quimby.
