USA Judo names team to Rio 2016 Paralympics

USA Judo officially announced the team that will represent the nation at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The team will consist of Christella Garcia, Myles Porter, Dartanyon Crockett and Ben Goodrich. Crockett is a former world champion and 2012 Paralympic bronze medallist in the men’s up to 90kg. Porter has competed in two Paralympic Games, finishing fifth in Beijing 2008 and taking silver in London 2012 in the men’s up to 100kg.

Eddie Liddie, Director of High Performance at USA Judo, said: “It has been four years of preparation and we are very excited to finally have an official team for the Rio Paralympics. It fills us with pride to have these four skilled athletes represent the US and two of them going to defend their victories from the 2012 Games in London. Our expectations are high and we are hoping for gold this time around."

Sport fans from around the world can now buy their Paralympic tickets for Rio 2016 from authorised ticket resellers (ATRs).

The IPC’s Global ATR is Jet Set Sports, and Rio 2016 tickets and packages can be purchased on the CoSport website.

Residents of Brazil can buy 2016 Paralympics tickets directly from the Rio 2016 website.
