Beijing 2008 Paralympics on NBC Sports

Beginning 9 November, NBC and Universal Sports present the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games on TV in the USA. NBC Sports will show a 90-minute documentary narrated by NBC Sports’ Bob Costas at 14:30 ET. Following the special will be an unprecedented 28 hours of Paralympic event programming on Universal Sports taking place from 10 to 16 November.

The NBC Sports’ Paralympic Special will go in-depth with top Paralympic athletes as they trained for and competed in the Beijing 2008 Paralympics. The 90-minute programme, produced by Emmy Award-winning NBC Sports producer David Michaels, takes viewers on a journey into the lives of eight athletes plus the Wheelchair Basketball Team with compelling stories of determination.

US Paralympic athletes to be profiled include Marlon Shirley (Athletics), April Holmes (Athletics), Jessica Long (Swimming), Tatyana McFadden (Athletics), Cheri Blauwet (Athletics), Marin Morrison (Swimming), Nick Scandone (Sailing), Scott Winkler (Athletics) and the USA Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team.

Complementing the NBC Sports Special will be a Universal Sports broadcast presentation of the 2008 Paralympics from 10 to 16 November with 4-hour programmes each night from 19:00-23:00 ET including the Opening and Closing Ceremony for a total of 28 hours of event coverage.
