Berck-Sur-Mer 2018: Souhad Ghazouani vs. Sanae Soubane

Home favourite goes for third consecutive European title 24 May 2018 By IPC

France will be hoping to celebrate gold on home soil through Paralympic and world champion Souhad Ghazouani.

The 35-year-old and London 2012 champion, who won her second world title at Mexico City 2017, also holds the world record of 150kg in the women’s up to 73kg.

If Ghazouani performs to the best of her abilities, it will be almost impossible for her rivals to stop her from claiming her third consecutive European gold in Berck-Sur-Mer.

But Morocco’s Sanae Soubane does not lose hope. She finished sixth in Mexico City thanks to a 105kg lift, but the 40-year-old will have to deliver a performance of epic proportions to beat her rival.
