Brazil names wheelchair basketball teams

The Brazilian Confederation of Basketball Wheelchair (CBBC) has announced the rosters for their men and women’s wheelchair basketball teams set to compete at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Twenty-four athletes will compete for Brazil, 12 for each team. Leandro de Miranda is expected to lead the men’s side in September’s Games. The 4.5-player was one of Brazil’s leading scorers during the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games, where Brazil fell to Argentina in the bronze medal game.

Low-pointer Perla dos Santos Assuncao helped her country capture the bronze medal in Toronto 2015 and is among the 12 who highlights the women’s roster.
