World Rowing announced the entries for the upcoming World Championships, which take place from 25 August – 1 September in Chungju, South Korea.

It will mark the first time the World Rowing Championships have been held in South Korea, and just the second time they have been held in Asia, and there will be five para-rowing events on the programme.

The ASM1x (men’s singles sculls arms and shoulders) is expected to be one of the highlights of the Championships, with Great Britain’s Tom Aggar, Australia’s Erik Horrie and Russia’s Alexey Chuvashev expected to battle for gold in the absence of China’s Paralympic champion Cheng Huang.

In the TAMix2x (mixed double sculls trunk and arms) event, expect a heated battle between the French duo of Stephane Tardieu and Perle Bouge, and the American pair of Oksana Masters and Rob Jones. The teams won silver and bronze, respectively, at London 2012, and at the Championships they will also receive stiff competition from Russia, Australia, Ukraine, Israel, Japan and the Netherlands.

The British four-some of Pamela Relph, Naomi Riches, James Fox, and Oliver Hester, meanwhile, will try to once again prove their dominance in the LTAMix4+ (mixed four coxed legs, trunk and arms) race.

The other two events include the ASW1x (women’s singles sculls arms and shoulders) and LTAMix2x (mixed double sculls legs, trunk and arms), the latter of which will be making its World Championship debut, drawing teams from five nations.
